The focus of Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA’s) 2022 International Roadcheck will be wheel ends. This year’s Roadcheck is scheduled for May 17-19.
Inspectors will conduct the North American Standard Level 1 Inspection.
When looking at “wheel ends”, these are the parts an inspector will highlight: wheels, rims, hubs, and tires. These components are pivotal in basic vehicle function and contribute to a quarter of all out-of-service violations discovered during Roadcheck inspections.
One of the main goals of International Roadcheck is to encourage drivers to take more preventative action when it comes to truck maintenance. Checking on that weird noise your truck’s been making lately, or just getting it in for its basic maintenance may be all you need to do to avoid a failed inspection (or, worse-case-scenario, a catastrophic accident).
